Save Yeppoon TAFE – Stop the Secret Plan

To the Honourable Speaker and Members of the Queensland Legislative Assembly,

We, the undersigned residents of Queensland, oppose the proposed conversion of the Yeppoon TAFE site into an Aboriginal school for troubled and disengaged youth.

The decision has been made without proper community consultation, and the approval of the Queensland Government is still required.

We believe the Yeppoon TAFE site, located beside the Yeppoon High School on Tabone Street, is not an appropriate location for this initiative. A more suitable alternative should be considered in consultation with the community.

    Most behaviours are learned behaviours, allowing this initiative to be built next to the Yeppoon High School or any other environment that houses children is inappropriate, kids need to be able to grow in a good clean healthy environment.

    Yeppoon Bridge Club applied for the use of one of the rooms at this venue a few years ago. Council declined the request,

    send all the trouble makers out into middle of OZ and make them do hard labour to teach them a lesson..
