Save Yeppoon TAFE – Stop the Secret Plan

To the Honourable Speaker and Members of the Queensland Legislative Assembly,

We, the undersigned residents of Queensland, oppose the proposed conversion of the Yeppoon TAFE site into an Aboriginal school for troubled and disengaged youth.

The decision has been made without proper community consultation, and the approval of the Queensland Government is still required.

We believe the Yeppoon TAFE site, located beside the Yeppoon High School on Tabone Street, is not an appropriate location for this initiative. A more suitable alternative should be considered in consultation with the community.

    I have investment properties near where the proposed school for a minority group. I oppose this appalling decision and have great concerns for the safety of Yeppoon.


    Yeppoon is a travel destination with the back yard to Great Keppel Island.

    This is not the position for such an establishment. We’ve already got enough youth crime in the area. No need to invite them in.
