Save Yeppoon TAFE – Stop the Secret Plan

To the Honourable Speaker and Members of the Queensland Legislative Assembly,

We, the undersigned residents of Queensland, oppose the proposed conversion of the Yeppoon TAFE site into an Aboriginal school for troubled and disengaged youth.

The decision has been made without proper community consultation, and the approval of the Queensland Government is still required.

We believe the Yeppoon TAFE site, located beside the Yeppoon High School on Tabone Street, is not an appropriate location for this initiative. A more suitable alternative should be considered in consultation with the community.

    My issue is location. The need for an establishment to provide the support for troubled and disengaged youth of all races is important. It just needs to be in a suitable location where the general public are not put at undue risk.
