Cairns High Density Development Petition
A state government petition is proposed as follows:
Petition to the Honourable the Speaker and Members of Queensland Parliament so assembled. Therefore, your petitioners request the House to:
- ‘Call in’ the development proposed at 179 Buchan Street, Bungalow, using state government powers under the relevant town planning instruments, and review the approval granted, ensuring full transparency and proper public consultation.
- Reassess the suitability of high-density housing at this location, considering the existing community dynamics, safety, and welfare of current residents, particularly the elderly, who are disproportionately affected.
- Implement measures to ensure future state and community housing developments in Bungalow and similar communities are in harmony with local needs and infrastructure, promoting safety, community welfare, and a cohesive living environment.
Your petitioners, signed.

This development should never have been approved, it will be a blight on beautiful Buchan Street. -

Shane Edwards signed 2024-06-27 18:25:00 +1000Disgraceful that they dump this in the middle of rate paying families, the value of the property goes to crap. Take this to the media to expose poor behavior by the council and the state government. It not only impacts the families who own their houses next to it but every generation after!!! -
