Cairns High Density Development Petition

A state government petition is proposed as follows:

Petition to the Honourable the Speaker and Members of Queensland Parliament so assembled. Therefore, your petitioners request the House to:

  1. ‘Call in’ the development proposed at 179 Buchan Street, Bungalow, using state government powers under the relevant town planning instruments, and review the approval granted, ensuring full transparency and proper public consultation.
  2. Reassess the suitability of high-density housing at this location, considering the existing community dynamics, safety, and welfare of current residents, particularly the elderly, who are disproportionately affected.
  3. Implement measures to ensure future state and community housing developments in Bungalow and similar communities are in harmony with local needs and infrastructure, promoting safety, community welfare, and a cohesive living environment.

    There is already enough crackhead drop kick pieces of Sh-.,t living one street over. Had 2 try and rob me on Saturday night. Send them further out of town. Can’t believe a place like that would get the go ahead on buchan st. So many nice houses on this street and u want to fill it with dropkicks.
