One Nation is Trusted
From the Courier Mail (18/10/2024)
All three of the bigger parties are distrusted by voters much more than they are trusted, with only One Nation scoring a net positive result according to new Roy Morgan polling.
And both Premier Steven Miles and LNP leader David Crisafulli are distrusted more than they are trusted, the pollster's latest quarterly Risk Monitor report has revealed.
Roy Morgan CEO Michele Levine said they had been analysing trust since 2018 as it was a strong indicator of voting intentions.
Their latest research revealed the most common reason people intended to vote Labor was because they distrusted the LNP more, not because they had a positive view of Labor.
Voters who were intending to vote LNP said the main reason for that was because they distrusted Labor more.
Queensland Labor's distrust levels dropped after the Albanese federal government's election but in recent months they have begun to worsen again.
Almost 19 per cent of people surveyed said they trusted Labor, with the most common reason being that they were “better than the opposition''.
But a whopping 35.5 per cent of the 1800 people surveyed distrusted Labor, giving it a negative 16.5 per cent net rating. The LNP was slightly more trusted at 20 per cent.
But its distrust levels were a huge 32 per cent per cent, giving it a negative 12 per cent net rating.
The Greens were trusted by a very small portion of people surveyed, just five per cent.
