Sports And Tourism On The Big Agenda

WHAT CANDIDATES SAY THEY WOULD DELIVER IF ELECTED:
David White, One Nation candidate for Lytton

“Lytton has a lot of potential as a visitor destination, with a range of attractions and tourist assets. To meet this potential, it’s important we have infrastructure to support it.

“To maximise tourism potential, you need to keep the visitors here, rather than have them stay somewhere else in Brisbane and only visit for the day.

“I’ll be prioritising tourism accommodation developments in Lytton because it won’t just enhance tourism.

It will also benefit other businesses in the electorate – catering, cleaning, laundry services, hospitality, retail – and create more jobs.

“Our community is also well-serviced by sports infrastructure, but there are some priorities I’d like to pursue if I’m elected with the support of voters in Lytton.

“The Wynnum Manly Yacht Club could use some public support to upgrade its clubrooms, which are falling apart. The club holds regular competitive sailing events but if it’s to hold more and compete at a higher level, it needs better facilities.

“Another priority for me and this community is the baseball/softball facility at Elanora Park. Spectators’ facilities need to be put back, and I’d also like to get some funding to replace deteriorating netting.”
