Kingaroy residents voice opposition to renewable rollout
Over a hundred people gathered at the Carrollee Hotel in Kingaroy on Thursday night to voice their opposition to a flood of wind and solar projects in the local area.
One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts and Nanango Candidate Adam Maslen pledged to oppose the rollout that they both labelled, “An environmentally destructive pipe dream.”
Kingaroy residents were highly enthusiastic about the One Nation pair’s calls to return to reality and embrace the value of coal to reduce Queensland power bills.
Senator Roberts also briefly visited the Tarong Power Station, recently announced as a candidate for conversion from coal to nuclear power under a Federal coalition opposition plan.
Senator Roberts slammed the proposal, saying that the next door coal mine proved to be the best power station for Tarong was a coal fired power station and called for a duplicate coal plant at the same time.
