Preserve Aussie Culture: Protect Brisbane's Good Name

An alarming issue is currently threatening the very foundation of our shared history and heritage. As reported by 4BC Radio, the Palaszczuk Labor Government, in an unwise alliance with the Greens, is considering a reckless proposal to rename  Brisbane to its Indigenous equivalent, Meajin. This isn't a single, isolated incident; it's a dangerous precedent that could affect every city and town in our nation.

Pauline Hanson's One Nation party vehemently opposes this ill-considered move. We stand firmly for the preservation of our history and identity, both of which are embodied in the name 'Brisbane'.

The Palaszczuk Labor Government and the Greens seem to ignore the fact that the proposed rebranding of Brisbane, in addition to potential changes to historical street names like George, Queen, Anne, and Edward, is more than a costly whim. It would not only create significant financial burdens but also cause disruption and confusion, these are complications we can ill-afford.

We call on every Australian  who shares our concerns to join this petition and voice their opposition to the proposed name change.

Labor and the Greens might be focused on Brisbane today, but your town, or city, or state, could be their next target.

Unless we send a clear message they might even seek to erase the very name of our nation, Australia.

By signing this petition, you stand against the reckless decisions of the Palaszczuk Government and the Greens, their disregard for our historical heritage, and their blind willingness to shoulder unnecessary expenses.

We urge you to spread this petition among your family, friends, and through your social media platforms. The more signatures we gather, the louder our collective voice, and the stronger our message against this ill-advised move will be.

Thank you for your support. Together, we will take a stand for Brisbane, and for all Australian towns and cities.

We, the undersigned, as proud Australians and staunch supporters of our national history and identity, are expressing our vehement opposition to the proposed name change of Brisbane to Meajin, as reported by 4BC Radio. This proposal, pursued by the Palaszczuk Labor Government in conjunction with the Greens, represents a reckless disregard for our shared heritage and sets a dangerous precedent for other cities and towns across our great nation.

We assert the following:
  1. The proposal to rename Brisbane is a direct threat to our historical heritage, as it erases a significant part of our history, which is embodied in the name 'Brisbane'.
  2. Changing the name of our beloved city, along with potential changes to historical street names like George, Queen, Anne, and Edward, creates significant financial burdens, causes disruption, and brings confusion. These are complications we can ill-afford.
  3. The proposal lacks strategic foresight and is a clear display of the Palaszczuk Labor Government's and the Greens' disregard for the implications their decisions might have on our communities.
In light of these points, we, the undersigned, call on the Parliament to:
  1. Reject the proposed name change for Brisbane and any similar moves affecting other cities and towns within our country.
  2. Reinforce the importance of our shared history and heritage, which includes respecting the established names of our cities, towns, and streets.
  3. Reevaluate the strategic direction of the Palaszczuk Labor Government and the Greens, ensuring their actions align with the interests and values of all Australians, rather than a narrow ideological focus.
We call on all members of Parliament to heed this petition, consider the concerns voiced by the signatories, and act in the best interests of our history, our identity, and the Australian people.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
