WHAT CANDIDATES SAY THEY WOULD DELIVER IF ELECTED:

One Nation candidate David White

“Securing the State Government's commitment to build affordable housing is crucial to getting people off the streets and into homes. To address the housing crisis and rising living costs, we must increase supply and manage demand. One Nation's plan includes halting immigration and banning foreign ownership ofAustralian land. We will also push landlords to rent out long-term vacant properties.

“To boost housing supply, we propose reducing bureaucratic red tape and reconsidering the costly seven-star efficiency rating scheme, allowing developers and builders to work more effectively.

“Building approvals and land releases are at historic lows. There is significant undeveloped land near Gundu Pa and around Ropely Rd that needs attention. We must engage landowners to facilitate development.

“Recently, the government allocated 5000sqm of property to the local Aboriginal corporation for an exclusive facility. We believe land like this should be used for social housing to support the homeless in our community. The tent city at Greene Park and the rise of people living in cars at Elanora Park highlight the urgency of this issue.”
