Mocnik for Mudgeeraba

My name is Carl Mocnik, and I’m proud to be your One Nation candidate for the Mudgeeraba electorate. I’ve lived in Robina for 15 years, run a local business, and served over 13 years as a decorated naval officer, defending our nation's values.

As a single father of two—my 13-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter—I know the struggles everyday Queenslanders face. I’m committed to our community, focusing on overdue road, school, and hospital improvements, and tackling the surge in youth crime.

Securing One Nation’s presence in government in October is crucial. We’ll hold the major parties accountable, ensuring Queenslanders’ voices are heard.

Youth Crime Crackdown

Youth crime is rampant, and lenient sentencing isn’t working. We need strict repeat offender laws, tough bail laws, and review panels to ensure justice is served and communities are safe.

It’s also time to focus on victims, with restitution programmes that help offenders understand their impact and provide compensation to those harmed.

We support intervention programs like “boot camps,” unlike the LNP’s approach of simply jailing youth offenders, which only hardens them. Programs like Operation Hard Yakka provide discipline, structure, and positive role models, turning lives around.

Health

Our hospitals are in crisis. We need to urgently recruit and retain more healthcare professionals to improve patient care and reduce wait times.

Many health staff remain sacked after the government's heavy-handed COVID response. We must reinstate these essential workers.

Ambulance ramping is at an all-time high. Almost half of all patients wait over 30 minutes before being admitted, leaving them in pain and distress. We need urgent measures to fix this.

Don’t Forget, Don’t Forgive—Punish Them at the Ballot Box!

  • I’m outraged by the ALP state government's suppression of our rights—the worst in our history. Their mandatory vaccines, restrictions, and mass sackings caused immense suffering. Many workers remain sacked for refusing the vaccine.
  • I’m equally angry at Ros Bates, the state MP, and the LNP. Where were they when we needed them? Silent! Their only concern was protecting the federal Liberal government that allowed these mandates.
  • One Nation opposed these restrictions then and continues to call for a Commission to ensure this overreach never happens again. The ALP and LNP oppose this.

Economy and Cost of Living

  • Excessive regulations are strangling businesses and driving up costs. We need to streamline regulations to encourage growth and ease the burden on all of us.
  • Coal and nuclear power are essential to reducing electricity costs and ensuring we avoid blackouts.
  • We must eliminate payroll tax, which punishes businesses for hiring Queenslanders. This will attract businesses, stimulate the economy, and create jobs.
  • A thorough review of government spending is necessary to cut waste and ensure taxpayer money is used efficiently.

Roads

  • The M1 and its arterials are still “parking lots.” Despite 15 years of promises, gridlock remains, especially during peak hours. We need smart, cost-effective solutions to reduce congestion and improve commute times.
  • For example, modifying overpasses like the Robina Parkway/M1 overpass to eliminate lane crossings and traffic lights would significantly improve traffic flow without costly infrastructure changes.

Education

  • Education, not indoctrination! Our schools should focus on skills and knowledge, not political agendas. We need to return to core subjects and critical thinking.
  • Parents should have a greater say in their children's education. We’ll create elected school boards to give parents the power to influence important decisions.
  • More teachers and aides are urgently needed. Classrooms are overcrowded, with 30 students per class being unacceptable. We must reduce class sizes and teacher burnout by hiring more educators.

Democracy and Freedom

  • The trampling of our rights during COVID was unacceptable, and the LNP’s silence was unforgiveable. One Nation was the sole voice resisting these draconian actions.
  • We say ‘NO’ to racial division, treaty, and Makarata. Almost 70% of Queenslanders rejected the Voice referendum, yet the ALP and LNP ignored us by passing native treaty legislation. We’ll repeal this divisive legislation and focus on unity and equality for all.
  • We’ll introduce a sunset clause on native title claims to bring certainty to landowners and ensure timely resolutions.
  • We must reinstate the Queensland state senate as a check against government overreach and ensure transparency with real-time government expenditure reporting.

Final Thought

  • Recent polls predict a landslide loss for the ALP state government, but your choice is between One Nation and the LNP. Remember, the LNP is no longer the party it once was. They’ve become morally bankrupt, complicit in government overreach, indifferent to our wishes, and divided.
  • Vote for a party whose loyalty is to the people. Vote common sense. Vote Carl. Vote One Nation!
